Mr. Engelhardt talked about his book, The Last Days of Publishing: A Novel, published by the University of Massachusetts Press. The book follows the tribulations of a fictional editor as he faces various publishing industry trends as well as personal issues. Mr. Engelhardt read from his book and discussed his experiences as an editor. He also talked about the changes in the publishing industry in recent decades, the effects of large chain bookstores, and the future of the conventional paper book. Following his presentation, he responded to questions from the audience. close
