Mr. Fussell is interviewed about his book, The Boys' Crusade: The American Infantryman in Northwestern Europe, 1944-1945, published by Modern Library. Mr. Fussell and Mr. Atkinson discussed military historians' new focus on the human side of events. Mr. Fussell talked about the traumatic effects of war on individual soldiers and civilians, as well as the ways in which his own combat experience gives him additional insight. They also answered questions from the audience. close
