As part of the Leaders of Capitol Hill series, former Senator John Glenn and others remembered the life and career of the late Senator Mike Mansfield (D-MT), including his 24 years in the U.S. Senate, 16 years as Senate majority leader, U.S. ambassador to Japan, and recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom. He died in 2001. Introduced by Dean Einhorn, the panelists talked about Mr. Oberdorfer’s substantial new biography, Senator Mansfield, and about Senator Mansfield’s life and career.
