Attorney General Ashcroft announced charges filed in a gun trafficking case allegedly involving Ohio college students and a New Jersey street gang. The indictments are part of a crackdown on gun crime known as the “Safe Neighborhoods Project.” He went into details on all the indictments. He noted that federal gun crime prosecutions are up 68 percent in the past three years, which he credits to “Safe Neighborhoods Project.” After his remarks he answered reporters' questions. close
