Ms. Mankiller talked about her book Every Day is a Good Day published by Fulcrum. The book examined Native American women’s lives, roles in tribal systems, and the challenges facing tribal peoples and cultures. Ms. Mankiller was the first woman to become a major tribal leader. She talked about the problems facing Native Americans, including the ongoing struggle to preserve tribal rights and sovereignty. Following her remarks she answered questions from the audience. close
