The Joint Economic Subcommittee on Technology and National Security heard testimony on the state of the Soviet economy. George Kolt, CIA expert on Soviet affairs, warned the Soviet economy is at risk of disintegration if economic and political reforms are not instituted. Mr. Kolt talked about the lack of government commitment to reform and the political infighting occurring among the various republics. close
