Missouri State of the State Address Governor Holden delivered his State of the State address to the legislature. He began by reading the names of Missouri soldiers who died in Afghanistan and Iraq, followed by a moment of silence. He reported that at a time of general economic decline, Missouri was in good financial condition with a growth in jobs. He proposed a plan to create more jobs focused on maintaining the infrastructure. He also announced support for ethanol production and life sciences technology and proposed to balance the budget while fully funding education. close
