Ms. Houston is the daughter of first and second-generation Japanese American parents. She and her family were detained at Manzanar, a Japanese internment camp, during World War II. She has also lived in France. Mr. Blaise has lived in Canada, the United States, and India, where his wife, Ms. Mukherjee, is from. She has also lived in Europe. Ms. Nunez is from Trinidad. Ms. Hampl is of Czech descent.
