Mr. Carrier talked about his book, A Traveler’s Guide to the Civil Rights Movement, published by Harvest Books. The book is an illustrated history of places, people, and events relevant to the struggle for racial equality. He also discussed the civil rights movement, focusing on the years 1954-1965. Mr. Carrier decried what he views as a lack of monuments and museums dedicated to preserving the history of important civil rights events. Slides were shown throughout the presentation. Following prepared remarks, Mr. Carrier responded to questions from the audience. close
