At an annual forum on the State of the Black Union, Tavis Smiley moderated a panel discussion titled “Strengthening the Black Family: Preserving the African American Imprint on America,” held at the New Birth Baptist Church in Miami, Florida. Participants focused on community building, the influence of the media on black families, education issues, same-sex marriage, and the state of race relations.
