Author, Melody Ermachild Chavis talked about her book, "Meena, Heroine of Afghanistan: The Martyr Who Founded RAWA, the Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan", published by St. Martin’s Press. In the book, Chavis described the influence of Meena on women’s rights. Meena was assassinated in 1987. Chavis also examined some of the actions taken by RAWA. During this presentation, Chavis read from the book and responded to questions from the audience. close
