ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) Executive Director Anthony Romero spoke at the National Press Club about efforts to protect civil liberties. Among the topics he addressed were the Patriot Act, the detention of Arab men following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, and the situation of detainees in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. He also talked about legal challenges to government anti-terror actions. Following his remarks he answered questions from the audience. close
