Mr. Schlesinger talked about his book, Act of Creation: The Founding of the United Nations, published by Westview Press. The original plan called for the United Nations to be based in San Francisco, instead of New York City. Mr. Schlesinger wrote about how the United Nations was initially created with the support of U.S. government officials, including President Harry Truman and Secretary of State Edward Stettinius. He also responded to questions from the audience. close
