The book is in the form of letters to her daughters about the lessons she has learned about all the stages of a woman’s life and family, friends and love. Many of the people who inspired passages of the book, including her daughters, were present. Ms. Matalin discussed her deep appreciation for the teachers, family members and “gal pals” who have helped to shape the lives of her young daughters. Her husband James Carville spoke and told some Cajun jokes. Ms. Matalin responded to questions from members of the audience. close
