USAID Administrator Natsios talked about the situation in Darfur, Sudan, which is currently the worst humanitarian crisis in the world. Over one million people have been displaced by a rebellion and if sufficient aid is to be delivered it must be done before the rains in June make transportation of food too difficult. The international community has made plans to help but needs more cooperation from the Sudanese government. After the administrator’s statement the three officials answered questions from members of the press, including the possibility of genocide and the possibility of military intervention. close
