Members of the Canadian House of Commons asked members of the cabinet of the Canadian government questions on Canadian politics and concerns during the question period in the House. Following the reading of members' statements, which are short declarations on policy issues read by House members, the members asked the prime minister and members of his cabinet questions concerning the Al-Mashat affair, in which an Iraqi diplomat who was formerly denied a visa was allowed into Canada with the knowledge of the government. Hons. McDougall and Valcourt refused to answer questions until a committee meeting later in the day. close
