Edwin Black talked about his book Banking on Baghdad: Inside Iraq’s 7,000-Year History of War, Profit, and Conflict, published by John Wiley and Sons. He described Iraq from the days of Mohammed to the Mongols to the Ottoman Empire to the present day, stressing the importance that oil has played throughout Iraq’s history as well as the role it will continue to play in the future. Mr. Black is also the author of IBM and the Holocaust. After his presentation, he answered audience questions. close
