Secretary of State Colin Powell reported on the discussions that he and his counterparts from the Group of 8 nations had to prepare for the economic summit to be held the next month. After the secretary’s presentation he and the other ministers responded to questions from the press on the transfer of power in Iraq, the possibility of troops from other nations being sent to Iraq, North Korea’s nuclear program and abduction of Japanese citizens, and ease of travel to the United States. close
