Emily Yellin talked about her book, Our Mothers' War: American Women at Home and at the Front During World War II, published by Free Press. In the book, the author uses interviews from relatives and family friends to illustrate the new responsibilities women were given during World War II. Beginning with her own mother’s experience in the Red Cross, she examines the involvement of women in activities ranging from manufacturing to undercover operations. Following prepared remarks, Ms. Yellin responded to questions from the audience. close
