Ralph Eubanks talks about his memoir Ever Is a Long Time: A Journey Into Mississippi’s Dark Past, published by Basic Books. The book describes his experiences growing up as an African American in the 1960s. He talked about his childhood growing up in Mississippi under Jim Crow laws and the racism he experienced later in life after being in an interracial marriage. He also talked about the process of writing and what inspired him as well as reading passages from his book. After his presentation, the author answered questions from members of the audience. close
