Mr. Hayes talked about his book, The Connection: How al Qaeda’s Collaboration with Saddam Hussein Has Endangered America, published by HarperCollins. In the book, the author described what he believed was the undeniable connection between Iraq and al-Qaida. Using evidence of interactions between the two organizations during the course of the 1990s, Mr. Hayes argued that the invasion of Iraq was part of the war on terror, not a distraction from it. Following his remarks he answered questions from the audience. close
