Mr. Larson talked about his book, Evolution: The Remarkable History of a Scientific Theory, published by Modern Library. In the book, the author explores the history of the theory of evolution. Beginning with pre-Darwinian debates on the origin of life and including the Scopes Monkey Trial and the discovery of the DNA double helix, he attempts to explain the role of evolution in today’s political climate. Mr. Larson also describes the various scientists, explorers, and others who played roles in the history of the theory of evolution. Following prepared remarks, he responded to questions from the audience. close
