She responded to questions about the conservative tendency of German politics and the election of Helmut Kohl. She compared the socioeconomic problems currently facing Germany with those once found in the United States, and cautioned against making false characterizations of the German people, including those labeling the entire population with the values of the Protestant work ethic. close
