Author Christopher Kush taught volunteer members of the American Cancer Society how to lobby Congress. The next day groups of volunteers would meet with their respective members of Congress to discuss issues including tobacco regulation and the “Patient Navigator” bill (the bill, currently pending in Congress, provides funding for low income/underserved communities to help those in need get medical care).

Mr. Kush is the author of The One-Hour Activist: The 15 Most Powerful Actions You Can Take to Fight for the Issues and Candidates You Care About, published by Jossey-Bass. close
