Dr. Miles spoke by video uplink from Minneapolis about the role of U.S. military medical personnel concerning the human rights of detainees in Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq. Dr. Miles has an article in the journal The Lancet in which he contends that the U.S. military medical system failed to protect detainees' rights, and that it collaborated in implementing psychologically and physically coercive interrogations. He argues that reforms are needed in the military medicine system. He responded to audience telephone calls, faxes, and electronic mail. close
