The Ancestor's Tale
He and his wife, Lalla Ward, read selections from the book which, modeled after Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales, chronicles the process of evolution through a journey backwards in time. Beginning with humans, different species of life (described by the book’s narrator through "tales") join the journey as their reverse evolutionary paths converge with that of the travelers. Following the reading, Professor Dawkins answered questions from members of the audience.
