Author Daniel Flynn talked about his book Intellectual Morons: How Ideology Makes Smart People Fall for Stupid Ideas, published by Crown Forum. Mr. Flynn argued that ideological thinking often led smart people to support dangerous ideas. He used W.E.B. DuBois, Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger, and Paul Ehrlich, author of The Population Bomb, as examples. Mr. Flynn also criticized the work of Noam Chomsky and talked about the recent scandal surrounding CBS News and it’s story on George Bush’s National Guard service. After his presentation, he responded to questions from members of the audience. close
