Secretary of State Colin Powell spoke about international relations. He emphasized President Bush’s leadership in the war on terror, in Afghanistan, and in Iraq. He talked about the importance of coalition building, particularly maintaining a close “trans-Atlantic relationship” with the U.S.'s traditional European allies. He asserted that, while the U.S. “no longer sees the world through a euro-centric prism,” the partnership between Europe and the U.S. is critical to maintaining international security.
