The Senate agreed to pass H.J. Res. 91, designating June 10 through 16, 1991, as Pediatric AIDS Awareness Week. The Senate began consideration of S. 1204, the Surface Transportation Efficiency/Federal-Aid Highway Act. The Senate disagreed to the amendments of the House to S.64, to provide for the establishment of a National Commission on a Longer School Year, agreed to the request for a conference thereon, and appointed as conferees Senators Kennedy, Pell, Metzenbaum, Hatch, and Kassebaum. The Senate agreed to Ex. S. Res. 104, relating to the return to the President of certain treaty amendments. close
