Edwidge Danticat is a native of Haiti who moved to the United States at age twelve. She is the author of The Framing of Bones and Krik? Krak! among others. Orhan Pamuk is the author numerous books written while in his native Turkey as well as The New Life and Snow. Cynthia Ozick writes mainly about Jewish life in such books as The Shawl, The Messiah of Stockholm and Levitation: Five Fictions. Her newest book is Heir to the Glimmering World.
