Health officials testified before the members of the House Appropriations Subcommittee about the availability of influenza vaccines. They talked about the announcement of the British vaccine manufacturer, Chiron, would be unable to supply vaccines due to contamination problems in their production plant. They spoke about plans to ensure that vaccine supplies in the U.S. will be able to meet the need in the U.S. They talked about efforts to acquire vaccines from other suppliers, as well as plans to recommend that existing supplies be distributed to those most vulnerable to influenza. Witnesses responded to questions from members of the committee. close
