State of the U.S. Economy Mr. Greenspan spoke about a number of economic issues. He discussed concerns about the availability of oil reserves, noting that while earlier concerns about the depletion of oil supplies had been overstated, current fears are grounded in “potential geopolitical adversity” that could limit access to oil reserves. He addressed efforts to expand existing fields as well as attempts to locate new sources. Mr. Greenspan also discussed how these trends impact the cost of fuel and the U.S. economy. close
