Author Robert Kurson talked about his book Shadow Divers: The True Adventure of Two Americans Who Risked Everything to Solve One of the Last Mysteries of World War II, published by Random House. Mr. Kurson related the story of two shipwreck divers who discover the wreck of a German submarine near the coast of New Jersey.

Author John Barry talked about his book The Great Influenza: The Epic Story of the Deadliest Plague in History, published by Viking Press. He chronicled the influenza pandemic of 1918. The disease spread across the globe and caused more deaths than AIDS or the Black Plague. Mr. Barry also addressed the critical role doctors played in tracking the virus, and the ways in which they were ultimately able to contain the outbreak. close
