Tammy Bruce delivered her speech, “Contrary to Public Belief: How Conservative Ideas Empower Women, Gays and Other Minorities,” in the State Ballroom of the Oglesby Union at FSU. She believes conservative ideas are better suited to empowering women and minorities, and uses that framework to discuss the results of the 2004 election. She focused on the dangers of “group think” and of labels. Ms. Bruce talked about the motives and cultural structure of the leadership of the political left, speaking from her personal experiences which included being the president of the Los Angeles chapter of the National Organization for Women. After her presentation she responded to questions from students in the audience.
