Ms. Mendoza talked about her book The Book Of Latina Women: 150 Vidas of Passion, Strength, and Success, published by Adams Media Corporation. The author highlights 150 women that have made significant contributions in the arts, politics, science, and history. Luisa Moreno, a civil rights activist, Rosemary “Rosie” Casals, seven-time Wimbledon Women’s Champion, and Dr. Antonia Novello, the first woman and first Latina Surgeon General of the United States, are all featured in the book. Following her remarks the author answered questions from members of the audience. close
