Ivory Coast officials talked to reporters about violent uprisings and a United Nations embargo on arms sales to Ivory Coast and sanctions on government or rebel groups impeding the peace process. Forces within Ivory Coast had recently attacked French peace keeping forces in the country and Ivorian military forces had begun to rearm in response to rebel threats. Following their remarks they answered questions from reporters. close
