The Korean Conundrum
Ted Galen Carpenter and Doug Bandow talked about their book The Korean Conundrum: America’s Troubled Relations with North and South Korea, published by Palgrave Macmillan. The authors argued that it was necessary to remove U.S. troops from South Korea and that South Korea should take over responsibility for its own security. Selig Harrison, author of Korean Endgame: A Strategy for Reunification and U.S. Disengagement, published by Princeton University Press and Don Oberdorfer, author of The Two Koreas: A Contemporary History, published by Basic Books, also provided commentary. Following their remarks they answered questions from the audience. close
