The ranking members of the House and Senate Budget Committees, respectively, talked with reporters about the new Congressional Budget Office’s analysis of the federal budget. They said a deficit of $368 billion is forecast for next year, noting that the Bush administration will soon be asking for $80 billion more for Iraq protection and rebuilding.
