Panelists talked about a report released by Brigham Young University Center for the Study of Elections and Democracy that day, “Dancing without Partners: How Candidates, Parties and Interest Groups Interact in the New Campaign Finance Environment.” In their remarks they focused on the conduct of presidential election campaigns in their states, campaign spending under new regulations in the 2004 battleground states, and the influence of issue advocacy and alternate means of campaigning. Following their remarks, they answered questions from the audience. close
