The Advisory Panel held its second public meeting to hear perspectives on tax reform and descriptions of the problems presented by complexity in the tax system. Chairman Greenspan addressed the history and increasing complexity of the U.S. Tax Code.

Participating by video connection from Houston, former Secretary Baker talked about tax loopholes, production growth, and details of reforming the code. He said that a 1986 reform of the Tax Code was the most successful in achieving fairness and financial growth. He said he supported President George W. Bush’s tax cut initiative. close
