The National Alliance of Third World Journalists sponsored a news conference on the current state of affairs in Cuba, including the status of Cuba’s nuclear power plants, the Pan American Games being held in Cuba, immigration issues, and Cuba’s relations with the United States. Mr. Arbesu said attempts to paint Cuba as a threat to the U.S. national security were incorrect, as the nuclear reactors being built in Cuba were similar to other nuclear power plants being built around the world. He also criticized the U.S. for accepting Cuban refugees in violation of immigration policies. He urged normal relations between the two countries. close
