Ms. Gordon talked about her book Suburban Sweatshops: The Fight for Immigrant Rights, published by Harvard University Press. about the large numbers of immigrant workers worked outside of urban centers. The author compares low-wage immigrant work such as housekeeping and yard work to sweatshop labor and argues that conditions are very similar, including the long hours and the high risk of injury.
