Participants talked about intelligence collection and dissemination, coordinating intelligence reports, uses of intelligence information, and cases in which information had been ignored. Ms. Rowley also talked about her case in which she publicized key failures in intelligence analysis prior to the September 11 terrorist attacks. Following their remarks they answered questions from the audience.

The panel “Whistle-Blowing and the Intelligence Community” was moderated by Robert Vaughn, professor, AU Washington College of Law. The panelists were: Colleen Rowley, FBI whistleblower; Tom Devine, legal director, Government Accountability Project; Mark Zaid, partner, Krieger & Zaid PLLC.

The panel was part of a conference on “Emerging Issues in National and International Security” held by American University Washington College of Law. close
