Experts talked about two alternative visions for the future of U.S. telecommunications deregulation, including suggested key legislative and regulatory changes for improving the economic welfare of telecommunications companies. Mr. Hazlett suggested that the 1996 Telecommunications Act be rewritten to rely more on markets and less on regulation. Other speakers recommended a more modest rewriting of telecommunications regulation and anti-trust enforcement. After their presentations the panelists answered audience members' questions. close
