Scholars, civil rights leaders and others talked about the history of civil rights and how past leaders in the black community would have responded to contemporary issues. They also talked about lessons that could be learned from the responses of historical African American leaders to oppression during their times and applying those lessons to contemporary society. Following their remarks they answered questions from the audience. close
