The Appropriations Transportation, Treasury, and Housing and Urban Development, The Judiciary, District of Columbia Subcommittee held a hearing on fiscal year 2006 appropriations for the Supreme Court. Supreme Court Justices Anthony Kennedy and Clarence Thomas spoke about the Supreme Court’s budget. The court’s proposed budget for 2006 was $66 million, which included 11 new police officers, one whose sole purpose was to assess threats made against the justices. close
