Operation HOPE officially launched a national financial literacy campaign, “Banking on Our Future Across America,” for inner city youth with a panel discussion on personal financial issues and the minority community. Among the issues they addressed were financial planning, home ownership, basic financial education programs for young minorities, and community building. It was part of what the group called a “new civil rights movement.” Ambassador Andrew Young, Dorothy Height, and John Bryant hosted the conference and Mr. Gordon moderated the panel of financial experts. close
