Mr. Caputo talked about his book 13 Seconds: A Look Back at the Kent State Shootings, published by Chamberlain Brothers. Wednesday, May 4, 2005 marked the thirty-fifth anniversary of the shootings at Kent State University in Ohio when National Guardsmen killed four anti-war protesters and wounded nine. Author and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Philip Caputo was a 28-year-old Vietnam War veteran and reporter covering the events for the Chicago Tribune in 1970 and has revisited the event in his book. After his presentation the author answered audience members' questions. close
