The National Air Traffic Controllers Association held its annual legislative conference with a dual focus. It emphasized the role it wants to play in shaping the future of air traffic control and informed lawmakers of the numerous ways the National Air Traffic Controllers Association is working to help improve and modernize the system.

Representative Spratt talked about the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the budget it receives annually, which will be cut in fiscal year 2006 if Congress passes the budget the White House wants. He stated that newer traffic control equipment was required at many of the nation’s airports to prevent future accidents. He followed up with questions from members of the audience. close
