Charles Ornstein and Tracy Weber discussed their series, “The Troubles at King/Drew” in the Los Angeles Times. They were the lead reporters who spent a year investigating Martin Luther King Jr.-Drew Medical Center, located in Los Angeles. The series, which was published in December 2004, focused on the hospital’s medical lapses, its managerial problems and the political situation there. The newspaper received a Pulitzer Prize Award for Public Service and a RFK Memorial Journalism Award for the series. close
